Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Kanga Crew mobile application (the “App”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It supplements, and should be read together with, our End User License Agreement. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
The App is intended for users located in the United States and is designed for users who are at least 13 years old (see Section 8, Children’s Privacy).
1. Our Privacy Principles
Kanga Crew is a fitness game. We built it to collect as little information about you as possible while still letting us understand how the App is used so we can improve it. In particular:
- We do not ask you to create an account or give us your name, email address, or phone number to use the App.
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not collect health or medical records, and we do not collect or store your body weight.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.
- Camera and motion-sensor input used to detect your movements is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us (see Section 4).
2. Information Stored Only on Your Device
The following information is created and stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers:
- Workout activity and progress — for example, the exercise type (such as squats or push-ups), your repetition counts, daily and weekly goals, workout history, dates, and streaks. This is saved in local data files on your device.
- App settings and preferences — for example, audio, display, and gameplay settings.
Because this data lives on your device, it is removed when you delete the App or clear its data through your device settings. If you use your platform’s device backup feature (such as iCloud or Google backup), this local data may be included in those backups under the applicable platform’s terms.
3. Usage and Analytics Information We Collect
To understand how players use the App and to improve it, we collect anonymous usage and activity data using a third-party analytics provider, PostHog (see Section 5). This replaces the analytics functionality previously provided by Unity Analytics.
The analytics data we collect is limited to information about how the App is used, not who you are. It includes:
- In-app activity and interaction events — for example, which screens you view, which buttons or controls you tap, when a workout is started or completed, and similar interaction events identified by a generic control or event name (such as
start_button). - Aggregate gameplay and progress signals — for example, that a workout was completed or a goal was met, without any medical or body-metric data attached.
- Basic technical and device information — for example, device model, operating-system version, App version, language, general region/country (derived from your IP address, not precise location), and crash or error diagnostics.
- A pseudonymous analytics identifier — a randomly generated identifier used to distinguish sessions and devices for analytics purposes. It is not linked to your real-world identity, and we do not combine it with account data because the App has no accounts.
We instruct our analytics provider not to collect advertising identifiers, and analytics is the only intended use of this data — it is not used for advertising or ad targeting.
We do not intentionally collect any information that directly identifies you (such as your name, email address, or precise location) through analytics, and we ask you not to enter such information into free-text fields anywhere in the App.
4. Camera, Microphone, and Motion Sensors
To detect and count your movements, the App may request access to your device’s camera, motion sensors (accelerometer/gyroscope), and/or microphone, as described in our EULA.
- Any camera, microphone, or motion-sensor input used for movement detection is processed on your device in real time for that purpose.
- We do not transmit, upload, or store your camera images, video, audio, or raw sensor streams on our servers, and we do not send them to our analytics provider.
- You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. Disabling a permission may limit or disable features of the App.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate and improve the App. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- PostHog — product analytics. Processes the anonymous usage and activity data described in Section 3. See PostHog’s privacy policy at https://posthog.com/privacy.
- Remote configuration — we may use a remote-configuration service to adjust App settings and features remotely. This may involve your device retrieving configuration values and sending basic technical information (such as App version and device type).
- App stores — the Apple App Store and Google Play may collect information when you download or update the App, subject to their own privacy policies.
Your use of these third-party services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
6. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features;
- understand how the App is used and which features are popular;
- diagnose problems, fix bugs, and improve performance and stability;
- develop new features and improve existing ones; and
- protect the security and integrity of the App and enforce our EULA.
We rely on this data being anonymous or pseudonymous and do not attempt to re-identify individual users from it.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We may share information only:
- with the service providers listed in Section 5, acting on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations;
- if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request;
- to protect the rights, safety, or property of Uncapped Potential, our users, or the public; or
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy or provide notice of any changes.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address in Section 13 and we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Because the App has no accounts and collects only anonymous usage data, we do not knowingly maintain identifiable information about any user, regardless of age.
9. Data Retention
- On-device data (Section 2) remains on your device until you delete the App or clear its data.
- Analytics data (Section 3) is retained by our analytics provider for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, after which it is deleted or further aggregated in accordance with the provider’s retention practices.
10. Your Choices and Rights
- Analytics opt-out. You can stop analytics collection at any time by disabling data collection in the App’s settings (where available) or by uninstalling the App.
- Device permissions. You can grant or revoke camera, microphone, and motion-sensor permissions at any time in your device settings.
- Deleting your data. Because gameplay and progress data is stored locally, deleting the App or clearing its data removes that information from your device.
- State privacy rights. Depending on where you live in the United States, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to opt out of certain processing. Because we collect only anonymous or pseudonymous data and maintain no accounts, we may be unable to associate a request with a specific individual; where the law permits, we may decline a request we cannot verify. You may still contact us using the details in Section 13.
11. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, in-app or on our website) and update the “Effective Date” above. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
